Our Staff
The Medical Mission is run by Diana Meyers, a registered nurse, who holds the title of Community Wellness Director St. Anna’s Church.
Our Medical Director is Ben Springgate, M.D., MPH, an Internist and Pediatrician. A native New Orleanian and Tulane University School of Medicine graduate, Ben was instrumental in bringing medical care to New Orleans in the initial days and weeks post Katrina.
James Morris, GSW, coordinates our mobile unit, registration and referral processes, in addition to providing depression screenings and education on the mobile unit.
Denny Scaria is a NOLA Service Corps Fellow of the Diocese’s Episcopal Community Services and is here to provide needed manpower while learning about working with community programs
Volunteer doctors, nurses and social workers (local and out-of-state) are used to staff the unit, as well as non-medical personnel to assist with registration, when available. We may also have a Deacon or Priest with the unit to provide spiritual support on occasion.
