We will update this calendar as necessary and as events develop.

St. Anna's Youth Initiative:  This experimental program is an undertaking funded largely by the Diocese of Louisiana as well as other sources.  In order to make the public schools a place of success instead of failure, St. Anna's has, with the cooperation and financial participation of Sylvan Learning Centers, arranged to have these children tutored in an accelerated program that will, educationally, bring them from where they were to where they need to be academically.

Anna's Chefs:  This group is a cooking group that provides food for various church functions.  In addition, we offer a brunch on the last Sunday of each month as a way for the community to share and grow in the knowledge and love of one another.

Anna's Acolyte Program:  We take our worship seriously and practice our worship with regularity.  This program is more than acolytes and crucifers though - it builds self esteem and a sense of service for our youth and adults.  It is a way to feel worthy before the lamb of God.

St. Anna's Bible Study:  This series is generally topical and limited in scope.  As an example, in May and June, 2005, a group is meeting to study the Book of Revelations based on the curriculum and writings of Dr. Bruce Metzger.  This group will meet on Monday nights for about two hours for seven sessions.

Young Adult/Youth Bible Study and Life Skills classes:  In the summer of 2005, St. Anna's embarks on a meeting each Wednesday night that will include guest speakers, bible study, and mentoring in how to deal with every day life in our diverse neighborhood.  These meetings will last about one to two hours.

St. Anna's Youth Basketball:  This program is free form.  We have built a basketball court as none is available to the neighborhood.   Kids from all around play basketball here.  We need mentors and volunteers to monitor this activity in order to provide a safe place for kids to meet and play.  Help us out if you can.

Community Programs that St. Anna's Supports:
Esplanade Ridge Tenant and Homeowners Association:  A local association concerned with policing, blighted properties, preservation, and domestic safety issues.  Meets at St. Anna's monthly.

12 Step S.A. Group:  Meets twice weekly at noon on Fridays and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.  This group seeks the hope offered by the traditional twelve steps with sexual addictions.  Closed meetings.

Holistic Health:  A publicly funded organization that provides mentoring and life skill training for schizophrenics and other mentally impaired persons that have been treated.  This vital program helps clients to achieve a degree of independence.
